Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)

We undertake energy inspections and issue Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) for all types of buildings, in accordance with the requirements of the Greek Regulation on Energy Performance of Buildings (KENA).

Our company has certified Energy Inspectors, registered with the Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPE).

The issuance of an EPC is mandatory in the following cases:

For all buildings (even those under 50 sq.m.) for basic uses (residential, permanent and holiday homes, offices, commercial uses, public gatherings, education, temporary accommodation, health and social welfare, etc.), as follows:

New and radically renovated:

Upon completion of the construction of any new or radically renovated building

Existing:

• For every sale, purchase, or rental of a single building or part of a building (e.g., apartment, commercial property)
• Public buildings larger than 250 square meters that are frequently visited by the public must display the EPC in a prominent place visible to the public
• The issuance of an EPC is mandatory for the inclusion of residential buildings in the "Home Energy Saving" program 

What is an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate)?

An EPC is a certificate recognized by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, which shows the energy performance of a building.

In the EPC, the building is classified into an energy category, from A+ to H, depending on how 'energy efficient' it is, based on the construction of the shell and the systems it uses to meet heating, cooling, hot water, ventilation, and lighting.

The EPC is issued, following an on-site energy inspection, by a certified Energy Inspector, registered in the Register of Energy Inspectors of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (www.buildingcert.gr ). The Energy Inspector includes in the EPC recommendations to the owner for improving the energy performance of the building/part of the building.
